The self famil land package includes your accommodation at the Scenic Matavai Resort, a welcome drink, hosted dinner, rental car (excluding fuel), an Island Tour, a Niue Island welcome pack… and a guaranteed amazing experience.
3 and 4-night self famil land packages are available in April only.
Discounted Air New Zealand self-famil airfares are available until 11.59pm 19 November 2026 for travel between 30 October 2026 - 30 March 2027: $239 theworks one way from Auckland, per person including taxes; $329 theworks one way including taxes per person ex-Wellington or Christchurch. Special domestic add-ons are available for $90 per person one way. Close outs and blackouts will apply. N Class will not be available on all flights.

Step 1: Arrange your Air New Zealand self-famil airfares through your Staff Travel team or internal consolidator (see details below).
Step 2: Complete your registration on THIS website.
Step 3: You will receive an email confirming your Self Famil Land Package with an invoice, which we ask you pay within 14 days of receipt.
Step 4: Start planning the other things you want to do in Niue... and pack your bags - reef shoes and snorkeling gear is essential!

Accommodation at the Scenic Matavai Resort, a welcome drink, hosted dinner, rental car, an Island Tour, a welcome pack… and a guaranteed amazing experience. All these bookings will be made for you. You will also receive discounts on some other activities that you may wish to participate in.
Note: During December and January some local business operators will be travelling, so not everything is always open and operating as usual… but there is still lots to do!
Outside of these Self Famil travel periods industry rates can be requested, and Niue Tourism will assist to support your visit.

Absolutely! We want you to enjoy Niue with your family. The self famil package is for 1-2 people in one room. ONE additional room at the Scenic Matavai Resort can be added to your booking (subject to availability). Note, there is maximum occupancy of two people per room, however a roll away bed can be provided for a child with an additional charge of $50 per night including breakfast. (please note this is only available in Garden View rooms).
One additional room is available at $229 for up to two people (including breakfast).
You may ask for a quote for any additional people/rooms above this.Please just email sarah@niueisland.com if you want to add extra family members /rooms.

Yes! The Scenic Matavai Resort has Wi-Fi. You can also hire a 'MiFi' pack from Telecom Niue on arrival. It looks a bit like a battery pack and will give you Wi-Fi service while you're out and about.

No - there is no roaming/cellphone coverage. You can buy a local sim, but then you end up with a different phone number. The easiest way to communicate is via email, Messenger, Facetime, WhatsApp... or another data-based service.

Absolutely not... There is a lot to do in Niue!! The biggest complaint from tourists is that they were so busy out and about exploring this fantastic island, they never had time to read the 3 books they took away 😉

Yes - You will be crossing the date line to Niue so when you leave on a Saturday from NZ you arrive on a Friday in Niue. When you fly home, you leave on a Friday from Niue and arrive on a Saturday in NZ. So, for accommodation you will need to work a day prior to the flight date when departing NZ.

Your Niue Island Tour
On your first full day in Niue, you and your travel companion will be booked on one of the Island Tours that will give you a great insight to all there is to do in Niue. This will either be with Niue Orientation Tours or Explore Niue, and additional family/friends traveling with you can be added to the tour (at a cost). Please just email sarah@niueisland.com if you wish to add extras.
Niue Orientation Tours
The Niue Orientation Tour is a 4-hour minibus journey to a cove, a cave, a chasm, cliff tops and snorkeling spots. They provide a resource pack to help you plan each day of your holiday, so you'll be in the 'right place at the right time' for your safety and enjoyment. Make the most of your holiday and find out where and when to go with important tide times and windows of opportunity for each of the iconic snorkeling locations.
Explore Niue - West Coast Tour
This 4-hour orientation tour is a great way to start your time in Niue. Our local guides provide an in-depth overview of Niue's history, culture and insight into Niue's current events, equipping you with the information you will need to enjoy exploring Niue at your own leisure. As we explore Niue's western coastline we provide you with the information as how you can best spend your time on island. From great snorkelling spots to the best places to dine, iconic places to explore on Niue's eastern coastline and other tours that will come highly recommended.
Your Rental Car
Included in your Land Package is an entry level rental vehicle from Niue Rentals who offer wholesale rates to travel trade. If you want to upgrade your car to a larger one, please email sarah@niueisland.com to find out your options (at an additional cost).

A5 Plantation and Uga Tour
Discover the true Niuean way of life on a A5 Plantation and Uga tour experience.
Watch a coconut being husked, visit a local plantation where your friendly guide Tony will explain the traditional farming methods, old and new and see how we grow our staple food crops. You will also venture into the interior of the island to see where the Coconut crab(Uga) live and learn about their habitat.
Fresh coconuts to drink will top off this amazing combined tour experience. The tour provides a fun easy going adventure for people of all ages. Tours last for 2 hours and departs from Mutalau Village located on the northern side of Niue.
Ebony Forest Tours
What better way to acquaint yourself with Niue then by engaging in a eco-friendly tour with a knowledgeable guide who not only shares with you his great affinity with Niue’s rich tropical rainforest and its flora and fauna but also the secrets of Niue’s history and legends. A memorable stopover to Jacks workshop where he works as a carver using the local Ebony wood.
Niue Vanilla Tour
NIUE Vanilla International (NVI) Tour will take you on a journey to discover a world of vanilla cultivation in NIUE. This tour package includes a trip within our organic vanilla farm located at driving distance from the main town of Alofi. Niue Blue Snorkelling Tour
A trip with Niue Blue is an easy way to experience some of the clearest waters in the South Pacific packed with corals and marine wildlife: the vibrantly coloured fish and corals will have you feeling like you’ve jumped into an aquarium!
The tour starts at the dive shop with learning about Niue and its hidden gems after launching the boats you may come across the resident spinner dolphins along the way allowing for a possible in-water interaction. Then head to some of Niue’s best snorkel spots, abundant with a wide variety of reef fish and beautiful hard corals. The experienced in-water guide will support you, take photos, and point out the amazing marine life below the surface.
